Stone can be separated in two distinct categories:
Natural Stone is a creation of nature, as it is a naturally occurring aggregate/formation of one or more minerals or mineraloids, and like so many natural formations, every piece is unique and matchless. In addition, within each piece of natural stone one can also trace the history of the area where the material originated from. For example, today's limestone was once a mass of tiny sea creatures, then an ancient seabed, and after millions of years of uplift, a mountainside where the limestone was discovered in our day.
Natural stone was cut out from a mountainside originally in huge blocks of stone. These blocks are then sliced into slabs which are refined to give the natural colours a mirror like depth, smooth soft surface or left slightly rough to enhance its rich natural texture.
The luster, hardness, colours and variation are all indications of the stone's mineral composition and origin. This unique blend of characteristics is what makes your natural stone a one-of-a-kind, beautiful yet practical surface for your home or workspace.

Engineered stone is a manmade composite material made of crushed stone bound together by a polymer resin. It's main application is for the fabrication of kitchen countertops.
Currently , engineered stone products are gaining in popularity and are sometimes preferred over granite products because (i) they require less maintenance, (ii) they are more uniform in colour and (iii) are generally cheaper, making it an ideal solution for first time home buyers or people on a tight budget.
